As a recipient of developmental aid in the 1960s and 1970s, Singapore now actively contributes towards assisting third world countries in their development. The Department of Real Estate has been collaborating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) together with agencies such as the United Nations and the World Bank to conduct executive short courses for senior government officials from various developing countries. In the last 2 years, 6 executive training programs have been completed and a total of 99 senior government officials from developing countries have undergone training in property taxation and valuation, urban planning and management, etc. The responses from participants have been very positive.
