Admission Requirements
- To be admitted to one of the Master's Degree-by-Research
programmes, a person should have at least a good Second Class (Honors) degree, and to be admitted to the Doctoral
Programme, a person should have a Master's degree
- The person should be able to demonstrate ability to undertake independent research in a selected field of study. A student in the Master of Science (By Research)
programme, who has achieved favorable progress in the first year of his/her Master
programme, may apply for upgrading to
the Doctoral Programme
- Good TOEFL score for applicants whose medium of undergraduate instruction is not in English
- Good GRE score
- Applicant is to submit a research proposal indicating his research interest
A Research proposal should include the following:
- Aims/objectives of the proposed research, clearly stating the problems that the research will be addressing;
- A brief critical view of past works that are related to the area of research;
- A detailed research methodology including the source of data/information, and the techniques to be employed;
- Deliverables in terms of expected major findings, the likely contribution/s to the frontiers of knowledge or existing literatures; and
- Expected time-frame detailing the various research activities
- To be aligned with the department's three research focuses, priority will be given to applicants pursuing a research topic in the following fields:
- Real Estate Finance and Investment
- Urban planning and Institutional Analysis
- Housing and Urban Economics

Dissertation Module with a good
grade.
