Abstract of Talk:
From its origins in the 1960, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) are seen as an alternative to stocks and bonds and a welcome diversification in any investor portfolio. This session will provide an overview and highlights of REITs in Malaysia since 2005, including yields and recent performance.
The second part of the presentation will feature Hektar REIT, a retail-focused REIT and will highlight its business model, including a case study on its transformational exercise of Subang Parade, a 20-year old shopping centre refurbished to modern standards and continuing to cater to today's shoppers.
