Abstract of Talk:
Asian equity markets have staged a remarkable recovery in 2009 with some up almost 100% from their lows in early March. But how have the Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) fared? Also, what impacts have the Global Financial Crisis of 2007 and the ensuing global recession had on regional REIT markets? With many Asian economies beginning to emerge from the downturn, what is the outlook for REITs in the region? This talk will address these questions as well as the following issues:
- Sailing in uncharted (REIT) waters - Investor education / Regulator education - Developing new REIT markets / Improving existing REIT markets - Private / Unlisted REITs
