“Most business programs do not focus on real estate per se as a business curriculum has too many competing demands. As a result, business graduates who choose to go into real estate often end up having to take additional real estate courses. On the other hand, real estate students often find themselves inadequately quipped with finance, marketing and strategy grounding to contribute meaningfully to running a business. ABOUT TWO SCHOOLS

The Department of Real Estate (NUS DRE) traces its origin to 1969 when degree courses in both building and estate management were first offered in the then Department of Building and Estate Management. This was subsequently changed to the School of Building and Real Estate. In June 2000 the Faculty changed its name to the School of Design & Environment. As a result of this change Building and Real Estate were established as separate departments.

Contributing to Singapore and Beyond

Globally, NUS DRE boasts the largest real estate department across universities. The Department seeks to advance holistic knowledge of real estate and urban development for sustainable and inclusive urbanization in Asia through innovative research and teaching. The Department has an excellent research track record and connection with global research communities in real estate, urban economics and city planning. The NUS Institute of Real Estate Studies (IRES) and SDE Center for Sustainable Asian Cities (CSAC) provide platforms and support for multidisciplinary urban and real estate research. Our faculty come from elite universities around the world and provide a wealth of cutting-edge academic research and field expertise to our students.


RENMIN UNIVERSITY OF CHINA
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS (RBS)

The School of Business (RBS) is a constituent school of Renmin University of China. It grew out of the Department of Factory Management, the Department of Trade Economics and the Program of Finance and Accounting. These three departments were established in 1950 and were the first business administration programs in China. With a history of more than 60 years, RBS has produced significant numbers of professional managers for businesses and government agencies, trained faculty for higher education institutions, and developed a large number of new programs and research fields. As a pioneer in management education in China, RBS has authored textbooks widely used in Chinese universities and advised government and businesses in decision-making and enterprise reform.

In recent years, internationalization has become a cornerstone of RBS’ strategic focus. With the progress achieved over the years of obtaining the global accreditation of AACSB and EQUIS, RBS has also established long-term partnerships with over 55 prestigious universities in the world. These partnerships involve faculty visits, student exchange programs and research collaboration.
