The SARS epidemic in Asia is slowly but surely coming under control. Singapore has been declared SARS-free by the World Health Organization since May 31, and the number of new cases in other countries is tapering off rapidly. Although we need to act prudently and responsibly in response to the SARS situation, the conference committee at the National University of Singapore remains committed to holding the conference as we firmly believe that the AsRES conference is an important platform for real estate academics in Asia to profile their research and to get together as a community.

More than 40 delegates have registered for the one-day meeting on July 21 and six sessions have been scheduled for parallel paper presentations. In addition, we will launch the AsRES virtual platform where more than 100 papers can be accessible online. Features such as discussion forums, paper outlines, multi-media presentations, personalized forums, chat rooms, active messaging, etc will be introduced. Last but not least, we will hear more about the 2004 AsRES conference in India!

If you have not yet registered for the 8th AsRES meeting, please do so by sending an email to: rstbox1@nus.edu.sg.
