Dr Joseph Ooi received the Red Pen Award from the American Real Estate Society (ARES) at its 22^nd Annual Meeting held in Key West, Florida (April 19-22, 2006). The award, which is given in recognition of excellent reviewers for the journals published by ARES, was announced and presented at the ARES Awards Luncheon. Only one award is given out for each journal published by ARES. Joseph received his award for contributions to the Journal of Real Estate Practice and Education (JREPE). 

The JREPE (http://cbeweb-1.fullerton.edu/finance/jrepe/) encourages excellence in teaching and seeks to motivate research in real estate education and practice. It provides a basis for the exchange of innovative opinions and research findings among practicing real estate professionals, educators and researchers internationally. The contents provide information on the teaching of real estate and research findings that are critical to the understanding of the practice and education in real estate.
